For busy days, rainy days, lazy days, or just I-don’t-feel-like-cooking days, a slow cooker is a godsend. You just take your ingredients, mix them up, throw it into the slow cooker, turn it on, and return a few hours later to a delicious, hot, perfectly cooked dinner. The other day was an I-don’t-feel-like-cooking day for me, and thus BBQ ginger chicken drumsticks were born.
- 8 Chicken Drumsticks
- 1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 1/8 cup Teriyaki Sauce
- 1 clove of minced Garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon of Ginger
- Mix ingredients using a whisk in a large bowl until well-blended.
- Place chicken drumsticks in bowl and stir until chicken is coated with sauce.
- Place chicken drumsticks in slow cooker. Pour any extra sauce over the chicken.
- Place slow cooker on high for 3 1/2 – 4 hours, or on low for 6-8 hours.
The ingredients I used were based on what I had available in my kitchen at the time, but you can easily make substitutions. Honestly, I initially planned on using honey in the recipe but was out, so molasses was substituted instead. If you try the recipe and have any delicious modifications, let us know in the comments!
