During previous weeks, I have talked about how much I have made on a weekly basis through dog walking. Each week, the amount I spend on dog walking and pet sitting can vary, based on my availability, as well as demand for pet services. This can fluctuate based on day of the week, holidays, weather, and other factors. To get a more general idea of how much I am making, I took a look at the entire month of July. I am documenting how much I’ve made from dog walking through Rover, along with how many hours I worked, to arrive at an hourly rate.
Money earned: $940.40
Number of walks/visits: 46 (3 of these visits were 1 hour, rather than usual 30 minutes)
Hours worked (each visit + travel time averages about 40 minutes): 32.17
Hourly rate: $29.23
July was filled with vacations on my part, a day off for jury duty (ick!), and several instantces of owners and animals being away on vacation, so July wasn’t necessarily my busiest month for dog walking. However, for the amount of time I spent with animals, $29.23/hour isn’t too bad of a deal!
If you want to your own dog walking side hustle to earn an extra $29.23 an hour, you can sign up with Rover here to start finding clients in your area. 🙂
Alternatively, if you need a dog walker or pet sitter, you can go through my profile here and use the code FIRSTWALK2020 to get $20 off your first booking. Don’t worry, even if you don’t book with me you still get the $20 off!
